MENTOR ME CHARTER
The future of talent agility
Unlocking Talent, Unleashing Creativity
'mentor me'
Cavalry Mentorship Programme
Cavalry’s ‘Mentor Me’ programme has been designed to match freelancers with suitable mentors via our 11k strong, globally distributed creative community. We built this to ensure our mentors and mentees are able to gain access to one another using a clear, simple and engaging interface. We save both parties time in sourcing and matching participants and peer groups, whilst ensuring our community get the most out of our mentorship programme.
We are focussed on building a mentoring culture and sustainable engagement programme because we know how beneficial this can be for both our members and for those entering, or trying to enter, the industry.
We believe in helping our community find a suitable match, because we know that people with mentors are happier at their current jobs than those without.
Our aims:
- Senior management (‘Cavalry’@ &FRIENDS Global Ltd.) has a duty of care to those who wish to engage in the Cavalry ‘Mentor Me’ programme – although we are not legally obliged to do full criminal checks on those participants from within the Cavalry creative community, it is our aim to vet each and every participant in the programme (in the pilot programme – called ‘Mentor Me 2024/2025’) before they are matched with a peer. For the pilot programme (called ‘Mentor Me’ 2024/25) we have omitted these checks, however will ensure a feedback loop is in place that allows both mentors and mentees to address any issues or concerns with Cavalry (see point 5).
- Senior management (‘Cavalry’@ &FRIENDS Global Ltd.) will ensure that there are no participants who are noticeably vulnerable (for example, but not limited to; learning disabilities, bad mental health).
- There will be no disclosing of personal information – e.g.sharing details of home address, neither between participants nor will management request such information from participants.
- We have guided all participants of the ‘Mentor Me’ programme to conduct meetings in a neutral office based environment if and when meeting in person. If meeting online, we propose that no participants conduct online meetings from their bedroom.
- Senior management (‘Cavalry’@ &FRIENDS Global Ltd.) will ensure that there is an easily accessible ‘Feedback tracker’ and that participants are guided to complete feedback during the course of their mentorship programme. Management will ensure that said feedback tracker is monitored and learnings derived from this. Cavalry cannot take liability for the behaviours or actions of participants; it is rather Cavalry’s responsibility to provide a framework in which mentors and mentees can interact safely.
